Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health seeks a Virtual Pre-Admit RN to conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, collect health histories, and prepare patients for anesthesia and surgery.

You will collaborate with surgeons and the anesthesia team to optimize safety, while handling related tasks such as scheduling, patient check-in/out, and chart assembly. Ongoing education is encouraged to maintain expertise.

Qualifications

• Associate Of Nursing Accredited Registered Nurse and 1-3 years Pre-anesthesia Perioperative, Critical Care, or PACU, upon hire.
• Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire.
• Must reside in Washington.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-anesthesia nursing care by telephone within RN scope to patients referred to the unit.
• Complete pre-anesthesia assessments including medical history, meds, allergies, and anesthesia experiences.
• Review EMR, identify risks, and educate patients on anesthesia and perioperative care.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and care teams to optimize safety and reduce delays.
