Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor – MS, Licensed for a full-time evening schedule in a virtual setting. The role involves individual, group, and family counseling, utilization reviews, and discharge planning to support safe care transitions.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in a mental health field, 3–5 years of clinical experience, and Indiana licensure (LCSW/LMHC/LMFT/LCAC/HSPP). Proficiency with EMR and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health field (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related).
• 3–5 years of relevant clinical or community-based experience.
• Current Indiana licensure (LCSW/LMHC/LMFT/LCAC/HSPP).
• Crisis intervention certification may be required.
• BLS certification may be required.
• Knowledge of psychosocial assessment, counseling and crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient engagement in treatment plans and educational activities.
• Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
• Perform utilization reviews and discharge planning for safe care transitions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to deliver timely, safe services with resources and education.
• Interpret and communicate complex patient needs, modeling professional practices.
