Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor, MS Licensed to join the Monticello location. The role provides individual, group, and family counseling, along with utilization review and discharge planning, in a collaborative care setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in a mental health field, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and an Indiana license (LCSW/LMHC/LMFT/LCAC/HSPP). Familiarity with CBT, MI, DBT and protective service mandates is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a mental health field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field is required.
• Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Requires current license in Indiana as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAC or HSPP.
• Certification in crisis intervention may be required.
• BLS certification may be required.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI, DBT as evidenced-based practices.
• Knowledge of state/county protective legal mandates.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient involvement in treatment and education.
• Performs individual, group, and family counseling.
• Handles utilization review and discharge planning.
• Collaborates with health care team to ensure safe, timely care.
• Interprets patient/family needs and models caring practices.
• Assesses psychosocial risk factors and mobilizes community resources.
• Provides mental health assessments upon physician referral.
• Assists in guardianship, foster care, adoption, and level II placements.
