Job summary

Convene is seeking an AV Operations Specialist in New York City to join our Operations team at a premier venue. The role focuses on delivering technology services for meetings and events, with a strong emphasis on hospitality and client experience.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in AV/IT support, knowledge of Crestron systems, and experience with audio, video, lighting, and networking. This on-site role requires flexibility for event schedules, and reports to the General Manager and Technology

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in supporting AV and IT equipment.
• Customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Knowledge of audiovisual equipment including analog/digital mixers, wireless microphones, video switchers, and projectors.
• Basic understanding of Crestron and other central control systems.
• Basic knowledge of data networking principles.
• Experience with Macs, PCs, LANs, and servers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Apple iWorks.
• Flexible hours including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide ad-hoc troubleshooting and assistance to customers of all technology competency levels.
• Troubleshoot AV equipment, including audio, video, lighting, computer networking systems, and hardware.
• Pre-program coordination with property teams and the AV Operations Manager.
• Provide anticipatory customer service by establishing good working relationships with Convene team members, divisions, and vendors.
• Attend PEO, Pre-Con, and pre-production meetings as needed.
• Support day-to-day floor operations, including set and strike, operating in-room equipment, and supporting other AV functions.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and assist with requests during programs.
• Interact with the Production team to understand client experience prior to meetings/events.
• Collaborate with technology team and other departments.
