Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor

St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) is seeking to recruit a proactive and experienced individual to fill the position of Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Company’s vehicle fleet to ensure vehicles are available and fit for purpose to support operations. This includes scheduling planned maintenance and responding promptly to unplanned issues and breakdowns to minimize downtime. The role also involves conducting job safety briefings and providing clear instructions to mechanics for the safe and efficient execution of assigned work. The candidate is required to keep accurate and detailed vehicle maintenance records, including maintenance history, labour time and materials or parts replacement for the fleet. They will also be responsible for ensuring all work is done in accordance with VINLEC safety regulations, rules and procedures, inspecting tools, personal protective equipment, instruments and vehicles for safe conditions and any other duties assigned by the Senior T&D Engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Manage vehicle fleet to ensure availability and fitness for purpose.
  • Schedule planned maintenance and respond promptly to unplanned issues and breakdowns.
  • Conduct job safety briefings and provide clear instructions to mechanics.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed vehicle maintenance records.
  • Ensure compliance with VINLEC safety regulations, rules and procedures.
  • Inspect tools, PPE, instruments and vehicles for safe condition.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior T&D Engineer.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or an equivalent Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Engineering or Level 2 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of work‑related experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • In depth knowledge of vehicle auto mechanisms systems.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle operations to assist in the preparation of specifications for purchase of new vehicles and replacement parts.
  • Effective supervisory management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • First‑rate in problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in the use of relevant vehicle diagnostic tools, computer applications and systems.
