Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation seeks a Community Health Aide Trainee for Napakiak. The role provides primary and emergency care at the village clinic and requires relocation to the village or residency there. Training will be completed to become CHP certified, with travel to Bethel and other sites as needed.

The position supports year-round coverage, including summers, and offers generous benefits while serving communities across rural Alaska.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must demonstrate ability to read, write and perform math at the 8th grade level as per TABE.
• Be nominated by village council for service.
• Must attend Health Aide Sessions I-IV to become CHP certified.
• Must be certified ETT or EMT.
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary (acute, chronic and preventive) health care and emergency care at the village clinic.
• Provide year-round coverage including summers.
• Relocate to the village or be a resident to serve as CHA/Practitioner.
• Travel to Bethel and/or other training sites for trainings.
• Perform itinerant/float coverage to other YKHC villages as assigned.
