Job summary

YKHC seeks a Community Health Aide/Practitioner to provide primary, acute, chronic and preventive care at village clinics, including emergency services. Residency or relocation to a village is required, with travel to Bethel for trainings and year-round coverage.

Preferred English communication, basic computer skills, proficiency with RPMS and Telehealth, and nomination by the village council. CHP/ETT or EMT certification is required or pursued during service.

Qualifications

• Must be resident of the village or relocate to a village to serve as CHA/P.
• Ability to communicate in English; local language skills preferred.
• Willing to travel to Bethel and/or other training sites for basic training and trainings.
• Participate in preventative and chronic care activities as appropriate to level of training.
• Must be nominated by Traditional or IRA Council of the village where service is provided.
• Attend Health Aide Sessions I-IV to become a CHP.
• Must be certified ETT or EMT.
• If rehired, must be certified and meet re-entry guidelines.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and email.
• Must be proficient with RPMS and Telehealth within 3 months of hire.
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide; compute rate/ratio/percent.
• Language skills: read and comprehend, write simple correspondence, present information clearly.
