Job summary

Bel Brands USA is hiring a VIF Machine Operator for Materne, North America in Traverse City, MI. You will operate and monitor the Ixapak packaging line, manage shipping and receiving, and support line efficiency.

The role requires ability to stand for long shifts, attention to quality, and basic math for weight measurements. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, with hi-lo forklift certification a plus. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Ixapak packaging line via computer interface.
• Reset robotic arm positions after line shutdown.
• Adjust machine settings to vary pouch counts for different sizes.
• Understand mechanical operation and adjust equipment as needed.
• Break down machinery with hand tools for cleaning and sanitation.
• Inspect pouches for quality and uniformity; observe for contamination.
• Document machine efficiency and downtime on tracking sheets.
• Operate carts, power pallets, and hi-lo as required.
• Load 53-foot trailers with a forklift; assist shipping/receiving.
• Log incoming/outgoing pallets in the computer system.

Job Summary:

As a VIF Machine Operator for Materne, North America located in Traverse City, MI you will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of the machinery for the end of our manufacturing process along with the shipping and receiving of products and materials.

Position Responsibilities:

• Work with computer interface to monitor and start/stop equipment
• Reset robotic arm positions after line shut down
• Set machine to increase / decrease number of pouches selected for different size packaging sleeves
• Understand mechanical operation to adjust and manipulate Ixapak machine
• Break down machinery with hand tools to clean and sanitize
• Observe materials to identify contamination or foreign materials
• Inspect pouches for uniformity and quality
• Detect equipment problems and troubleshoot
• Document tracking sheets for machine efficiency and downtime
• Operate industrial carts, power hand carts, and hi-lo’s
• Inspect product prior to loading for quality standards
• Load 53 foot trailers with a lift truck
• Shipping and receiving of products and materials
• Log incoming material and outgoing pallets into computer system
• Recognize shortages of materials in the system and order materials for next shift

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for an entire shift (12 hours)
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications:

Education:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Technical / Trade School preferred

Experience:

• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience working in the food industry is a plus
• Must be able to measure and understand tear weight
• Previous experience operating industrial carts, hi-lo certification is a preferred
