Job summary

ByteDance's Multimedia Lab is hiring a graduate-level video algorithm engineer who will take ideas from research through to silicon and production systems. You will work on scalable video codec hardware (FPGA/ASIC), integrating algorithms into production workflows and validating impact with A/B testing.

Required PhD or near completion in CS/engineering, strong knowledge of video enhancement/compression, and proficiency in C/C++/Python.

Qualifications

• PhD or near completion in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Deep knowledge of video quality, enhancement or compression algorithms.
• Proficient in C, C++, Python.

Responsibilities

• Design strategy for end-to-end video quality optimization using analysis, processing, and encoding algorithms.
• Apply designed algorithms to VOD/Live streaming monitoring and data analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to productionize algorithms and validate impact via A/B testing.
