Job summary

The Boise Police Department seeks a Victim Witness Unit Supervisor to lead a dedicated team supporting victims and witnesses through difficult moments, guiding crisis response, and ensuring access to resources.

The role oversees Victim Witness Coordinators, assigns cases, and collaborates with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community partners to uphold victims' rights and provide comprehensive support across the criminal justice system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology or related field required.
• 5 years of crisis intervention experience and/or working with victims of trauma, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Victim Witness Coordinators and oversee case assignments.
• Manage program operations and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community partners.
• Support and guide victims’ rights communications and access to resources.
• Participate in on-call rotations to respond to critical incidents outside regular hours.
• Ensure compliance with department policies and oversight of workload distribution.
