Middlesex District Attorney’s Office seeks a Chief of the Victim Witness Services Bureau to lead operations and advocate for victims and witnesses in the criminal justice process. You will supervise bureau staff, coordinate services, and ensure adherence to the Massachusetts Victim Bill of Rights while working with prosecutors, law enforcement, and community partners.

The role requires strategic leadership, crisis intervention experience, and a commitment to public service.

Formación

• Strong leadership and supervisory experience in victim services or criminal justice.
• Deep knowledge of the Massachusetts Victim Bill of Rights (M.G.L. c. 258B) and related policies.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle confidential, sensitive matters with integrity.
• Proven crisis intervention experience and ability to manage high-profile cases.
• Ability to lead collaboratively, resolve conflicts, and promote a professional work environment.
• Commitment to public service and the mission of the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
• Knowledge of community-based resources for victims and families in Middlesex County.
• Proficiency with office practices, recordkeeping, and case management systems.

Responsabilidades

• Provide leadership and oversight of the Victim Witness Services Bureau and supervise all personnel.
• Establish and maintain consistent bureau practices, policies, and procedures.
• Guide supervisors and advocates in handling complex, sensitive, high-profile cases.
• Maintain an active caseload with advocacy, crisis intervention, and court accompaniment.
• Oversee assignment of homicide and fatality cases to ensure timely services.
• Coordinate recruitment, screening, and hiring for Victim Witness Advocate roles.
• Identify professional development opportunities and coordinate staff trainings.
• Ensure victims are informed of rights and receive referrals throughout the process.
• Collaborate with prosecutors, law enforcement, and community partners to align services.
• Represent the Bureau in meetings, trainings, and interagency initiatives.
