Job summary

The Next Generation Center (NGC) within Children’s Aid Society in the Bronx seeks a full-time Social Worker to support crime victims and witnesses. You will conduct outreach, assess needs, provide crisis intervention, assist with compensation claims, and navigate court and service systems with youth ages 14-26.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or equivalent NYS license-eligible Mental Health profession.
• License required; non-licensed candidates must obtain license within 6 months of hire.
• 2+ years of experience working with persons in crisis, victims of crime, young men of color, and the LGBTQ community.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and market Children's Aid sites, partner organizations, and communities.
• Accept and manage referrals.
• Conduct thorough assessments of crime victim needs including mental health and case management.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
• Assist participants with compensation claims and obtaining documentation.
• Review reports to evaluate issues and advocate for benefits and services.
• Accompany participants to court, police stations, and appointments as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and required reporting with OVS.
• Collaborate with OVS Case Manager on quarterly/monthly reports.
