Job summary

The City of New York, Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, seeks a Social Worker for its Victim Services Unit to provide trauma-informed crisis intervention and advocacy for crime victims and their families. The role supports victims throughout investigations and prosecutions, with collaboration across agencies and services.

Under supervision, you will assess urgent needs, link victims to services, maintain case contact, and conduct outreach and training on domestic violence.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health from an accredited school.
• Valid LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC license.
• At least 2 years of social work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention and advocacy to crime victims and their families.
• Assess urgency of the victim's needs and link to community services.
• Maintain contact with victims throughout the duration of the case and perform case management.
• Conduct outreach and training related to working with Domestic Violence victims.
• Conduct on-scene/field interviews and after-hours needs assessments.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity in highly confidential investigations.
• Complete monthly statistical reports in line with Strive NYC mandates.
• Perform other related duties.
