Job summary

Violence Intervention Program (VIP) in New York City invites a licensed Social Worker to join the Sexual Violence Program within the Specialized Programs department. The role provides short-term individual counseling, advocacy, safety planning, and trauma-focused group support to survivors.

You will collaborate with colleagues and community partners to improve access to services and contribute to education and outreach, ensuring culturally responsive care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or related field and licensure within an appropriate timeframe.
• Fluency in English and Spanish required.
• Experience providing trauma-informed counseling to survivors of violence.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, strength-based counseling and safety planning for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.
• Co-facilitate trauma-focused groups using CPT or similar approaches as appropriate.
• Connect survivors with legal, mental health, parenting, bilingual, and community resources via collaboration with partners.
• Deliver community education, workshops, and represent VIP at meetings and events.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support program evaluation and quality improvement.
• Collaborate across VIP programs and multidisciplinary teams to ensure culturally responsive care.
