Job summary

New Horizon Academy is seeking a Vice President of Facilities and Construction to lead the real property strategy, development, and maintenance across the network.

You will direct new school development, renovations, and capital planning, while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient operation. This role requires strong leadership and a track record of managing complex construction projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related real estate field with at least 5 years facility management experience and 5 years of commercial development experience.
• Proficient in computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, CAD, Revit, and project management software).
• Superior knowledge of construction processes, negotiations, vendor management and problem resolution.
• Ability to manage multiple projects to completion.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee new school development from title clearance to construction closeouts, permitting and design.
• Manage Site Zeus asset management tool for real estate and maintenance needs.
• Lead project management for replacement, renovation, expansion, and code compliance across sites.
• Create annual facility capital and maintenance plan and budget.
• Manage subcontractors and vendors, and develop partnerships for best-in-class service.
• Maintain relationships with engineers, architects, landlords, and general contractors.
• Present at public hearings related to site plans and approvals.
• Coach and develop the facilities team and ensure safety standards across properties.
