The role is responsible for stewardship of facilities and infrastructure, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and welcoming environment that supports the organization’s mission of teaching, research, and public service.
Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services, the Associate Vice President for Facilities Management serves as a key member of the leadership team and provides strategic direction for the Facilities Management department. Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership across facilities planning, construction, maintenance, and operations; developing and implementing a comprehensive facilities master plan aligned to organizational strategic goals; overseeing planning, design, and construction of new facilities and major renovations; and ensuring effective, efficient operation and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure.
The role also involves developing and managing the Facilities Management budget to support responsible stewardship of resources, leading sustainability initiatives and promoting environmentally responsible practices, and fostering a culture of safety, service, and continuous improvement. The Associate Vice President will collaborate with academic and administrative units to understand and address facilities needs, build and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and external partners, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and internal policies.
