Compensation: $250,000 - $275,000 / year

Department: Precision

Location: Manhattan, New York

Compensation: $250,000 - $275,000 / year

Description

Precision Neuroscience is pioneering a brain implant, known as a brain-computer interface (BCI), to restore communication and independence for people with neurological conditions. Our cutting-edge technology is designed to empower people with paralysis to control digital devices—such as computers and smartphones—with their thoughts alone, opening new possibilities for daily life.

Precision’s multidisciplinary team brings together leading experts in diverse fields such as neurosurgery, artificial intelligence, machine learning, microfabrication, electrical engineering, and more. We are committed to turning breakthrough scientific advancements into real-world solutions for people affected by conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke, and ALS.

As a Precision employee, you will be joining one of the fastest moving and best-capitalized companies in the emerging field of BCI. Since our founding in 2021, Precision has secured over $155 million in funding, developed and validated our technology, and initiated human trials in collaboration with some of the nation’s top hospitals.

We are seeking a Vice President, People to lead and scale our People function during a period of rapid organizational growth. This is the company’s first senior People executive hire, reporting to our CFO and partnering closely with our CEO and Chief Science Officer (two of our co-founders) as well as the broader C-suite. This position will suit an experienced and philosophically thoughtful Vice President who is energized by the opportunity to define and implement Precision’s talent, culture, and organizational strategy.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on operator who has played a meaningful role in growing VC-backed tech companies from 50 to 200+ employees, and who brings demonstrated leadership across core people domains including talent acquisition, engagement, org development, L&D, performance, total rewards, and compliance. We’re looking for a builder—someone who thrives in dynamic, early-stage contexts and cares deeply about fostering a high-performance and mission-aligned culture.

This position is onsite at our New York City headquarters in the Flatiron district, and while we have a flexible, relaxed culture regarding working hours, we highly value in-person collaboration. As such, this individual will be required to be in-office at least 3 days per week, with a strong preference for 4 days in-office (or even, as many Precision employees choose to do, all 5).

Regrettably, we are unable to consider remote workers or applicants not currently based in the United States, nor are we able to offer relocation assistance for applicants not currently living in the tri-state area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement people operations strategies aligned with the company’s mission and growth objectives.
  • Talent Acquisition and Recruitment: Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract top talent in the space. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including oversight of the sourcing, interviewing and onboarding new employees with the assistance of our in-house Senior Recruiter, recruitment agency partners and Operations Coordinators.
  • Employee Engagement and Retention: Create and implement programs and initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction and retention. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with our values and mission.
  • Organizational Development: Lead initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness, including workforce planning, succession planning and change management. Partner with senior leadership to align people operations strategies with business goals.
  • Learning and Development: Identify training and development needs across the organization and create comprehensive learning and development programs. Facilitate workshops, training sessions and other opportunities to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Performance Management: Design and oversee performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews and career development plans. Provide coaching and support to managers and employees to ensure continuous improvement and growth.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • HR Policies and Compliance: Establish and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal laws. Ensure all HR practices align with industry standards and best practices.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field and/or relevant certification from SHRM or HRCI (PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP)
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive, hands-on people operations experience, taking multiple companies from 50 – 200+ employees as leader of People Operations or HR.
  • Proven experience leading talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management and learning and development in a rapidly-growing organization
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws and regulations

Diverse workforces create the best culture, company, and products. We at Precision are
committed to an inclusive culture that celebrates the uniqueness and contributions of everyone.
