Vice President of Domestic Education Sales

Power Technologies is seeking to add a Vice President of Domestic Education Sales to our team.This role reports to the CEO and is a member of the Power Technologies Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate must have a rich career history to include holding the top leadership role responsible for a domestic education market sales team focused on technology hardware products sold through distributor and reseller channel. We are looking for a smart-working winner. Confident, competitive, and results-oriented contributor who has a track record of success. You will play an important role in leading our best-in-class education sales team to the successful accomplishment of the sales plan, Annual market vertical strategy creation and execution, Team leadership, Channel management, and closing new business.

***This position has a requirement of having direct experience in the EdTech market working with distributors and resellers. This person has deep experience in Education Technology selling hardware solutions into the Education sector and specifically K-12.***

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategy, goals, and tactical plans to achieve the annual revenue and profit targets for the domestic education business, to include team alignment, pricing, GTM, lead generation, and product strategies
  • Provide leadership; prioritize, set direction, and coach team members
  • Translate strategy into specific, measurable, and concise goals
  • Financial management: create annual sales & expense budget and manage to the budget monthly
  • Identify and communicate new business and product opportunities within the market focus
  • Proven track record of success at identifying new business and partner opportunities by seeking out, targeting and contacting prospective channel partners and customers within the education vertical.
  • Establish and monitor performance criteria for all sales managers and channel partners
  • Ensure sales team has full product and application knowledge with the ability to communicate that knowledge to the market segment effectively
  • Provides senior leadership for the team by developing, managing, and guiding sales activities and strategies to drive revenues and overall contribution to Power Technologies’ margin
  • Partner with the internal marketing team to contribute to the development of advertising campaigns by providing market Insite in the education vertical to the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales with marketing and product development strategies to achieve overall business objectives.
  • Participate in building and reinforcing company culture consistent with company purpose and values

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years related sales or experience leading multi-person, multi-region sales teams with demonstrated ability to navigate complex reseller and distributor organizations specifically within EdTech market.
  • Strong business development skills are required.
  • Excellent consultative and competitive sales skills that leverage both strong process and relationship-driven techniques.
  • Ability to deliver results against sales targets, with a proven record.
  • Outstanding customer relationships, interpersonal and communication skills with the established ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences and influence cross functionally.
  • Proactive, highly organized and detail oriented with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively supporting multiple channel partners.
  • Ability to be an individual contributor supporting team goals.
  • Strong computer skills – specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • CRM experience required; NetSuite experience is a bonus.
  • Ability to travel 50% as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Proficient in English, Strong oral and written communication skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract and calculate basic prices and margins.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.

Valid driver’s license in good standing, vehicle insurance

COMPUTER SKILLS

High level of proficiency in Microsoft office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
