LP Seafood & Specialty is seeking a strategic, results-driven, and people focused Vice President of Sales to spearhead our growth initiatives and lead our high-performing sales team. As the VP of Sales, you will drive revenue growth by developing and executing innovative sales strategies, identifying market expansion opportunities, and fostering a customer-centric sales culture. You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to align sales initiatives with broader company objectives, ensuring long-term business success.

In this role, you will analyze market trends, monitor competitive activities, and continuously refine our sales processes to maximize efficiency. Your ability to mentor and develop sales representatives will be crucial in building a resilient, motivated, and highly productive team. This position demands a strategic thinker, a hands-on leader, and a customer-focused professional who is passionate about scaling a business in a dynamic industry. The VP of Sales must be NYC based with regular visits to our offices and customers.

Position Summary

The VP of Sales is a strategic leader responsible for achieving revenue and profitability goals while building and managing a results-driven sales team.This role requires an experienced and motivated sales professional with a deep understanding of the hospitality and food service industries, a genuine passion for food, strong leadership skills, and the ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans based on data and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Strategy

·Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company growth targets, increasing revenue by $10M+ over 5 years.

·Establish a structured, data-driven sales process, ensuring consistent and scalable growth.

·Identify new business opportunities, including regional and national expansion initiatives.

·Lead key sales negotiations and build long-term relationships with high-value accounts.

Team Development & Performance Management

·Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team that exceeds targets.

·Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to sales representatives and account managers.

·Establish sales KPIs and implement accountability measures to drive individual and team success.

·Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture that aligns with LP Seafood & Specialty’s core values.

·Conduct weekly sales meetings where representatives review and manage their sales pipelines, discuss challenges, and collaborate on effective strategies to drive new business and account growth.

·Develop a resilient sales culture where failure is seen as a learning opportunity. Train sales representatives to analyze setbacks, extract key lessons, and quickly pivot strategies to maintain forward momentum.

Customer Relationship Management

·Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and stakeholders.

·Oversee customer engagement strategies, ensuring personalized and high-touch service.

·Identify and resolve customer issues promptly to maintain satisfaction and retention.

·Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to align sales strategy with overall business objectives.

·Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and finance teams to ensure optimal pricing and profitability.

·Analyze market trends, sales data, and competitive insights to inform decision-making and action.

·Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies.

Qualifications

·10+ years of sales leadership experience in the foodservice, hospitality, or specialty food distribution industry.

·Proven track record of driving revenue growth and leading high-performance sales teams.

·Strong negotiation skills with experience securing high-value contracts and partnerships.

·Ability to develop and implement sales strategies, pricing structures, and business development initiatives.

·Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, and financial metrics related to sales.

·Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

·Proficiency in CRM systems, sales analytics, and reporting tools.

·Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

  • Spanish language skills a plus.
