Verto People is seeking an experienced VP of Engineering to establish and lead its engineering function for a growing US energy infrastructure business in Texas. The role entails setting the engineering strategy, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe, compliant delivery of large-scale power projects.

You will oversee design reviews, vendor management, and project governance, driving performance metrics and technical standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in power generation or the wider power industry.
• 10+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Proven experience overseeing engineering delivery on large-scale power generation or energy infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical understanding of power plant systems, EPC project delivery, and engineering design.
• Experience managing engineering consultants, OEMs, and contractors.
• Demonstrated ability to develop engineering teams, processes, and technical standards.

Responsabilités

• Build, develop, and lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization across mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, and controls disciplines.
• Oversee engineering activities throughout project development, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Establish engineering standards, technical procedures, quality assurance processes, and performance metrics.
• Provide technical oversight of EPC contractors, OEMs, external engineering consultants, and equipment suppliers.
• Lead technical design reviews, technology selection, plant configuration, and systems integration.
• Manage engineering budgets, resources, and project priorities.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering and safety standards.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, construction, procurement, and project delivery teams to support strategic decisions.
