Job description

Lead. Build. Scale.

A rapidly growing real estate development and construction company is seeking an experienced Vice President of Construction to lead and scale its expanding multifamily construction operations throughout the Midwest. This opportunity is located in Lincoln, NE.

Multifamily experience is the key to this role.

We're looking for a construction leader who has built their career around apartments, townhomes, mixed-use residential, and other large-scale multifamily developments and understands the unique challenges that come with successfully delivering these projects.

This isn't a position for a general construction executive who has simply touched a few multifamily projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep, hands-on multifamily construction knowledge and a proven history of leading residential developments from early preconstruction and budgeting all the way through construction, turnover, and closeout.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead construction operations across a growing portfolio of multifamily, apartment, townhome, and mixed-use residential developments
  • Provide executive oversight throughout the entire multifamily construction lifecycle - preconstruction, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, construction, turnover, and closeout
  • Oversee multiple concurrent multifamily projects and ensure consistency across project teams and markets
  • Lead project management, field operations, budgets, schedules, quality, safety, and overall project performance
  • Develop scalable construction systems and processes specifically designed to support a rapidly growing multifamily development pipeline
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing Project Managers, Superintendents, and construction leadership teams
  • Establish strong accountability and operational standards across projects
  • Build and expand relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners experienced in multifamily construction
  • Help establish strong trade partner networks as the company expands into additional Midwest markets
  • Partner directly with executive leadership on development strategy, future projects, operational improvements, and geographic expansion
  • Ensure multifamily projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and at the quality expected of a premier developer/builder
The Multifamily Background We're Looking For
Significant Multifamily Construction Experience Is Essential For This Position.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience with ground-up multifamily construction
  • Strong knowledge of apartments, townhomes, multifamily communities, and/or mixed-use residential developments
  • A track record of successfully delivering large-scale multifamily projects from preconstruction through final turnover
  • Experience managing multiple multifamily projects simultaneously
  • Deep understanding of multifamily estimating, budgeting, buyout, scheduling, sequencing, subcontractor management, field operations, turnover, and closeout
  • Strong understanding of the trade coordination and scheduling demands unique to multifamily construction
  • Experience overseeing Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, and operational leaders
  • Proven ability to create systems and processes that improve consistency, efficiency, accountability, and profitability across a growing multifamily portfolio
  • Experience developing subcontractor and trade partner networks across multiple markets
  • Executive or senior-level construction leadership experience with responsibility for teams, operations, and overall project performance
  • Strong business sense with the ability to balance construction execution with the broader goals of a real estate development organization
Why This Opportunity?

This is much more than another VP title.

The company is growing, its multifamily portfolio is expanding, and they're looking for a proven multifamily construction leader who can help determine how that growth is executed.

You'll have a genuine seat at the table with the opportunity to build teams, strengthen operations, improve processes, influence development strategy, and help scale a significant multifamily construction platform throughout the Midwest.

If you've spent your career building apartments, townhomes, and multifamily communities and are ready to bring that knowledge to an executive leadership role where you can make a real impact, I'd l
