Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of financial markets and banking products (cash management, custody, trade, lending, capital markets).
  • Strong risk mindset, familiarity with credit fundamentals and financial crime / AML / KYC expectations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; proficient in MS Office; proactive and accountable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day coverage for a portfolio of Banks, including Correspondent Banks.
  • Coordinate across HSBC network to deliver products and services and drive opportunities to execution.
  • Plan and deliver client meetings, materials, and events in support of business development and strategy.
  • Support revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost discipline.
  • Maintain relationships with client contacts and internal stakeholders across regions and product teams.
  • Assist origination and execution across HSBC capabilities and products.
  • Collaborate with product and risk teams to balance risk and return and meet governance requirements.
  • Act as First Line of Defense for financial crime and relationship risk across the portfolio.

Institutional Portfolio Group is the client sector within Institutional Client Group responsible for all aspects of the Group’s relationships with developing or foreign headquartered institutional clients.

The Institutional Portfolio Group (IPG) Vice President will support coverage bankers in managing and growing relationships across a portfolio of Banks, with a particular focus on European and Middle Eastern correspondent banks. The role blends relationship management, business development, transaction execution, and strong ownership of credit and financial crime risk obligations.

The Vice President will coordinate the delivery of HSBC’s global product platform, support high-quality client engagement, and ensure the portfolio is managed in line with HSBC’s internal standards and external regulatory expectations.

As our Vice President, Institutional Portfolio Group, you will:
  • Day-to-day coverage for a portfolio of Banks, including Correspondent Banks. The Vice President will assume direct client responsibility
  • Proactively coordinate across HSBC’s network to deliver products and services to clients, identifying opportunities and supporting the conversion of ideas into executed outcomes
  • Plan and deliver high-profile client meetings, materials, and events that support business development and HSBC’s strategy
  • Support revenue generation against targets, product alignment, customer satisfaction, and disciplined cost management
  • Maintain effective working relationships with key client contacts and internal stakeholders across regions and product teams
  • Support origination and execution across a broad spectrum of HSBC capabilities and products
  • Partner with product and risk stakeholders to ensure transactions appropriately balance risk and return, meet internal governance requirements, and protect HSBC from material loss
  • Draft and present (as required) credit requests and supporting documentation to senior credit officers and relevant internal committees, demonstrating strong written communication and sound judgement
  • Act as a First Line of Defense owner for managing financial crime and relationship risk across the portfolio
You´’ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
  • Associate/ Vice President-level experience in banking/financial services, ideally with exposure to Financial Institutions (including Correspondent Banking)
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead by influence across countries, teams, and senior stakeholders
  • Good understanding of financial markets and banking products (e.g., cash management, custody, trade, lending, capital markets, asset finance)
  • Strong risk mindset, including familiarity with credit fundamentals and financial crime / AML / KYC expectations (Correspondent Banking risk experience preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn quickly and take ownership
  • Commitment to acting with integrity and upholding HSBC’s values and business principles
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of study
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses are required. A contingency period to obtain licensing can be provided at manager’s discretion

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
