Job summary

The University of Miami seeks a real estate and facilities professional to oversee university-owned properties, leases, and development across campuses. You will manage everything from due diligence to pricing strategies for diverse projects, including multi-million dollar land sales and campus renovations.

You will negotiate leases, sales, and donations, develop master plans, and coordinate with government officials to obtain approvals.

Responsibilities

• Markets university-owned properties held for re-sale and manages leases for campuses.
• Acquires and supports special real estate projects, including due diligence and pricing strategies.
• Negotiates contracts for leases, sales, and purchases of real estate and donated assets.
• Develops and maximizes the value of university-owned and operated real estate.

• Manages design and construction of facilities and maintenance for UHealth/MSOM campus.
• Plans and manages infrastructure maintenance for utilities in a cost-efficient manner.
• Leads government approvals for real estate and development plans with officials.
• Oversees campus parking, transportation, signage, and commuter relations.
• Provides full property maintenance services for facilities and grounds.
• Ensures internal controls, compliance, and reliable reporting.

Markets university-owned properties held for re-sale, manages and/or disposes of donated properties, buys strategic properties, and manages all leases for all University campuses.2. Acquires and/or provides support for special real estate projects, including due diligence, ranging from market value assessment to marketing strategy development and pricing strategies for such diverse projects as: multi-million dollar sales of raw land or under-developed properties; analyzing lease vs. buy decisions; and structuring offers.3. Negotiates contracts for leases, sales, and purchases of real estate as well as disposition of donated assets.4. Develops and maximizes the value of all university-owned and operated real estate.5. Develops master plans for all campuses and oversees development regulations affecting campus development such as zoning, land use, etc., including special studies and reports in support of campus development.6. Manages the design and construction of new facilities as well as maintenance of the facilities at the UHealth/MSOM campus. Responsible for equitable resource procurement and personnel management.7. Ensures proper planning, execution, and management of the infrastructure maintenance of the campus chilled water, water, sewer and storm drainage, as well as other utilities in the most cost effective manner.8. Serves as the University’s lead officer in obtaining government approvals for real estate and development plans. Works closely with appropriate municipal, state and federal government officials as may be required.9. Oversees the management of the UHealth/MSOM campus parking and transportation department, parking/permit system, signage, and commuter relations.10. Provides full property maintenance service for all infrastructures, facilities and grounds, such as repairs, maintenance and replacement services for facilities.11. Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
