Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Research & Development to shape and execute the Ingredients Division’s technical and innovation strategy.

Lead the portfolio across whey- and milk-based proteins, carbohydrates, cultures, and specialty solutions, while ensuring scale-up, regulatory clearance, and first commercial production. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline required; master’s or PhD strongly preferred.
• Fifteen or more years of progressive R&D, innovation, or product-development leadership in dairy or food ingredients.
• Experience defining strategy and commercializing B2B dairy ingredients from bench through pilot and scale-up.
• Deep knowledge of dairy-component chemistry and functionality across proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, cultures, and processing technologies.
• Executive-level business and financial acumen including budget leadership and ROI measurement.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic R&D and technology roadmap for the Ingredients Division.
• Own the innovation portfolio with stage-gate governance and business cases.
• Lead end-to-end development and commercialization of whey- and milk-based ingredients and solutions.
• Partner with customers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability, compliance, and value propositions.
• Drive productivity, margin expansion, and scale-up while maintaining food safety and quality.
