  • Lead proposal and interview preparation with Operations and Proposals partners.
  • Identify strategic hires and coordinate with internal recruiters.
  • Maintain client relationships; act as client advocate after wins.
  • Review costs/contracts; support pricing and teaming agreements.

Hill International is seeking a Vice President, Business Development in Seattle, Washington.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue opportunities: Understand Hill’s target markets, resources and services; identify business opportunities in targeted markets consistent with our business strategy; develop specific client and opportunity strategies; lead team effort to position for targeted pursuits; lead go/no‑go discussions.
  • Establish positive client relationships: Identify and effectively participate in industry networking opportunities; identify target clients and opportunities; meet with potential clients to understand opportunities; meet with decision makers; identify key issues; facilitate engagement; document client meetings.
  • Competitor knowledge: Identify and research competitors; understand strengths and weaknesses; lead effective teaming strategies; inform win strategy development based on competitive intelligence.
  • Develop win strategies: Understand decision process; develop clear understanding of client decision drivers; develop win strategies focused on delivering client value.
  • Lead proposal and interview preparation: Lead process of developing proposals and presentations; own proposal process working with Operations and Proposals partners; lead team development of presentations; coach presentation teams.
  • Help identify strategic hires: Identify strategic hiring needs; keep internal recruiters informed; reach out to industry network.
  • Maintain client relationships: After winning assignments, serve as client advocate; ensure staying in touch with client needs; develop client strategies to keep client interests primary.
  • Cost/Contracts/Legal: Conduct review to determine potential conflict of interest; provide intelligence to support pricing strategy; participate in legal and contractual review; lead execution of teaming agreements and MOUs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, planning or construction management preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in operations or business development role for a professional services firm, preferably with specific construction management experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, success oriented and organized.
  • Knowledge of the local market, clients and competitors.
  • Travel as needed/expected.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $200,000–$220,000 and will be based on qualifications, experience and location.
