Hill is seeking a Vice President - Aviation in the United States
This role is for Hill International Aviation as part of the Global Aviation Management team. It focuses on Program Consulting and Project/Construction Management delivery, business development, and identifying and pursuing opportunities in the public and private sectors for airport facility and infrastructure projects in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to demonstrated skills in successful project and construction management, the ideal candidate will have experience establishing and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities that align with competencies, developing pursuit strategies including key teaming relationships, supporting the preparation of proposals, delivering effective presentations, and ultimately securing new business through positive on‑time/within‑budget delivery while continuing to monitor and support the delivery of projects.
Administrative and Technical
- Plans, organizes, controls, integrates and evaluates the work of assigned Client Programs/Projects to ensure that delivery of services complies with the contractual obligations defined by contract and industry standards, exceeding the Client expectations.
- Manages major Aviation Programs and Project Teams to successfully complete assigned Consulting, Planning, and Program/Project Management assignments.
- Plans and evaluates the performance of assigned resources and staff.
- Monitors Hill's Client Project Assignments to ensure:
- Program/Projects assignments are carried out per contractual and industry standards.
- Program/Project financial results meet both Client and Hill expectations.
- Program/Project delivery schedules adhere to client contractual requirements.
- Conducts Client Expectation surveys at the onset of services, periodically following up with Client Satisfaction interviews throughout the duration of the respective agreement and at the conclusion to ensure the expectations of the Client were exceeded by the services provided.
- Assesses staffing abilities and identifies strategic hires necessary to achieve company goals.
- Understands the existing staffing resources and prepares a plan to ensure industry‑leading staffing.
- Supports recruiting and management of project staff.
- Utilizes existing Hill International training initiatives and adjusts them to align with the needs of the aviation industry.
- Provides project management and construction management services for buildings and facilities projects for state, local, federal and commercial clients, which include new development, rehabilitation and expansion.
Marketing and Sales
- Identifies business, client and project opportunities consistent with plans and strategy.
- Establishes positive client and partner relationships through successful networking and presentations.
- Utilizes market research, competitor analysis, professional conferences, and other means to identify potential new markets and ways to grow in current markets.
- Assists in the development and implementation of effective teaming strategies and develops and manages strategic pursuit plans.
- Maintains a written and visual portfolio of ongoing/completed projects and programs to provide to the Aviation Marketing Director for future sales efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or requisite experience and/or degrees in aviation related study.
- Minimum 20 years program and construction management experience in aviation facilities projects for state, local, federal and/or commercial clients, specifically in a key role with both technical and management responsibilities.
- Possesses extensive experience in airport and airline operations and understands the impact of construction and cost of implementation on an operational airport.
- Significant proposal development experience.
- Proven track‑record of successfully managing and delivering major aviation programs and projects with contract values in excess of $50M dollars and programs in excess of $500M dollars in construction value.
- Familiarity and strong relationships with local market, contractors, A/E firms and aviation clients.
- Extensive experience with facilities projects for State, Local, Federal and Commercial clients.
- Excellent technical writing, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Travel as needed.
