Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer to develop environments for vibration, shock, and acoustics related to launch vehicle operations at the Chandler, AZ facility.

The role requires deep knowledge of vibration theory, structural dynamics, and finite element methods, with 5+ years of related engineering experience for Level 3 or 8+ years for Level 4, plus ability to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related engineering experience (Level 3); OR Master’s with 3 years; OR PhD with 1 year.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance.
• In-depth knowledge of vibration theory, structural dynamics, rigid body dynamics, and finite element methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop environments such as random vibration, shock, and acoustics for launch vehicle operations.
• Perform analyses and prepare results for oral presentations and written reports.
• Build finite element and/or statistical energy analysis models for dynamic simulations.
• Generate dynamics test requirements and approach for avionics components and secondary structures.
• Execute vibration and shock testing from start-to-finish: pre-test analysis, sensor selection, testing, data analysis, model correlation, and report generation.
