Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Noise, Vibration and Harshness Engineer Level 2 or 3 to support development and ongoing support of Navy machinery. You will analyze acoustics and vibrations, and mitigate NVH issues across turbines, generators and motors.

The role requires experience with Hypermesh, Nastran, Abaqus and MATLAB, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. Relocation may be considered as part of a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience with classical and FE analysis methods for NVH.
• Ability to develop and validate predictive models using test data.
• US citizenship with the ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Use classical analysis techniques to understand machinery acoustic performance and resolve issues.
• Develop component and system level predictive / simulation models.
• Perform modal, vibration, direct frequency response, and sound transmission analyses.
• Gather test data, analyze results, and correlate with model predictions.
• Prepare technical reports and briefings for stakeholders.
