Job summary

Energy Transfer is seeking an Equipment Technician to monitor and report the health of rotating equipment using vibration, thermography, oil analysis, and performance metrics. This role partners with operations, engineers, and maintenance to troubleshoot and repair across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 0–4+ years in oil and gas operations, with strong data interpretation and troubleshooting skills. Some travel and safety compliance required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Level C: 0–2 years in oil/gas ops; Level B: 2–4 years; Level A: 4+ years in oil/gas ops.
• Solid troubleshooting and data interpretation skills.
• Proficiency with vibration and oil analysis concepts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain vibration analysis program. Establish equipment routes and frequency.
• Proficient with rotating and/or reciprocating equipment analysis techniques and perform as required.
• Proficient with motor and/or engine analysis techniques and perform as required.
• Develop and maintain lubrication analysis program establishing routes and frequency.
• Periodic data collection (vibration, temperatures, flow) and oil analysis samples.
• Analyze data to resolve or anticipate equipment failures.
• Lead root cause failure analysis using the TapRoot process.
• Implement continuous monitoring systems (alarms, reports, acceptance regions).
• Coordinate scheduling of repairs and follow-up.
• Monitor equipment repairs in the field and at vendor shops.
• Document deficiencies in SAP and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Maintenance/Reliability and operations to set priorities.
• Support lubrication program by monitoring effectiveness and taking actions.
