Veterinary Technology Clinical Specialist

Posted: May 7, 2025

Level: Community College Professional 18, 12-month, tenure track position.

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Closing Date: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, with priority given to materials submitted by Wednesday, June 4, 2025. The review process begins immediately.

Position Summary

The Veterinary Technology Clinical Specialist supports the program through coordination of clinical sites, recordkeeping, course setup, student guidance, animal care, and teaching courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support clinical and laboratory classes
  • Teach Veterinary Technology courses as needed
  • Coordinate clinical sites and activities
  • Maintain program accreditation and handle related administrative tasks
  • Perform routine lab procedures and animal husbandry

Additional duties include participation in college events, service on committees, and attending meetings, which may occur outside regular hours.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA-CVTEA accredited program or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge in CVT licensing, lab equipment, animal care, instruction, and regulatory understanding

Must demonstrate ability to work with diverse populations and possess strong communication and IT skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Veterinary Technology
  • Three years of experience as a credentialed Veterinary Technician
  • One year of clinical instruction experience
Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary ranges from $74,604 to $79,609 annually, plus comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
