Job summary

ACCESS San Fernando Valley is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team as a Veterinary Technician Trainer. This role focuses on training and mentoring technicians, with a strong emphasis on maintaining training standards and developing new coursework.

Compensation includes a $32–$35/hr RVT rate plus a $2 trainer differential, with higher pay for a VTS up to $42/hr depending on experience. Sign-on and retention bonuses are available, supporting long-term commitment.

Qualifications

• RVT with 3+ years in a large hospital setting.
• Proven experience in teaching or training within a veterinary setting.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, clinical procedures, animal handling, and terminology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for education and mentorship.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Train technical staff in a single hospital location.
• Schedule and organize all technical training meetings and coursework.
• Write outlines, texts, handouts, tests, and practical exercises.
• Administer exams and provide updates on training performance.
• Assist in interviews and skill assessments for new hires.
• Coordinate training across multiple forums/modalities to maximize exposure.
• Support onboarding of new technical employees into the home hospital.
• Uphold ACCESS values in daily tasks.
