Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare in Culver City, CA seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician Shift Supervisor for Emergency services. The role oversees ER teams on shift, coordinates patient care with doctors, and ensures high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include supervising technical staff, adjusting assignments by case severity, maintaining census and triage boards, and leading resource management within the ED.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ER experience in a lead/supervisor role.

• Review patient/doctor issues in the moment to allow for expedient and satisfactory resolution.
• Assign patients to the appropriate group based on case severity and knowledge of skill level.
• Update full patient census forms and patient board regularly during shift.
• Update Triage Board as necessary in a Triage-Center-In-Certification-Process Hospital.
• Ensure rounds are being appropriately handled as patients are transferred from one person to the next.
• Acts as primary person for resource management of technical staff within the Emergency Department.
• As assigned by the Technician Manager, trains staff in any technical areas requested.
• Responsible for being primary key-holder OR Cubex resource as needed.

It's a long list of unique experiences best suited to those who absolutely love caring for sick or injured animals in a high-paced, renowned animal hospital.

Job Purpose:

• Provide primary point of contact through which all technical questions, comments, concerns, and issues can be handled
• Decrease the time spent by doctors and technical staff replicating responsibilities ormissing duties by providing oversight for all technical employees in the moment

Non Credentialed Assistants$25/hr - $36/hr

Licensed Technicians$26/hr - $42/hr

VTS$43/hr - $45/hr
