Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare in Culver City, CA is seeking a Veterinary Technician – Patient Care to join our team. You will support veterinarians, facilitate outpatient treatments, and help with laboratory tests and admissions/discharges.

Work spans hands-on patient care and coordination with a skilled medical team. Ideal candidates have RVT preferred status and at least 3 years of veterinary assisting/tech experience, with a passion for exceptional patient care and a flexible, team-oriented mindset.

• RVT preferred; 3 years veterinary assisting/technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and educate clients.
• Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures per state Act for credentialed technicians.
• Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
• Obtain health history from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Maintain sterile, organized treatment areas and labs.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.

Located in Culver City, ACCESS LA is a referral hospital with 24hour Emergency services, where our technicians encounter a variety of cases while working closely with some of the most qualified doctors in the country.

As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands‑on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. In the emergency department there is something new every day!

Role Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
