Job summary

CityVet Chevy Chase is seeking a Veterinary Technician (VT) to join our clinical team. The VT assists veterinarians, restrains animals, and supports the front office to ensure smooth daily operations. Compensation is based on experience and education.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year in veterinary care, ability to lift 50 lbs, and strong organizational skills. This on-site role offers growth within a caring, team-oriented practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to restrain animals safely.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to learn veterinary terminology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery and assist veterinarians.
• Obtain samples (stool, blood, etc.) for testing.
• Test samples and interpret results.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Communicate with clients about care plans.
• Assist Client Service Specialist team.
