Job summary

CityVet Capitol Hill is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team. The VT will support veterinarians by preparing patients for surgery, administering anesthesia, taking X-rays, and drawing lab samples. They will help monitor post-op patients and restrain animals during exams.

The role requires at least 1 year of veterinary industry experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Compensation is based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• At least 18 years of age at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians—prep patients for surgery, administer anesthesia, take X-rays, and gather lab samples.
• Monitor patients post-op and restrain animals during exams.
• Obtain samples (e.g., stool, blood) for testing and interpret results with Vet.
• Administer prescribed medications and communicate care plans to clients.
• Support Client Service Specialist team as needed.
