Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician to join our team. You will perform critical nursing duties, assist with anesthesia, and prepare patients for advanced imaging such as MRI and CT, while delivering compassionate client education and high-standard care.

The position involves intensive patient care, neuro assessments, and collaboration with veterinarians to support fast-paced emergency and specialty services.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary neurology is preferred.
• Ability to perform anesthesia-related tasks and monitoring.
• Comfort with imaging procedures (MRI/CT) and post-op care.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients with client education (e.g., bladder expression, sling walking, ROM).
• Perform call backs and refill medications.
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating to Clinician.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs (heart rate, pulse, capillary refill, mucous membranes, temperature, respiration).
• Understand normal vital parameters.
• Assist with IV access and venipuncture.
• Operate all brands of IV fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and diagnostics.

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician , you will:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc ).

• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc.. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• P erform call back s and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam ; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• O perate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• R estrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
