BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician.

We strive to provide state‑of‑the‑art services to our patients and clients. We are very proactive in supporting our technician team to advance their careers. We have many specialized technicians in Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Emergency/Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculate all medical math, including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc.; provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Perform call backs and refill medications.
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the clinician.
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters.
• Be comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture.
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics.
