Job summary

CityVet Career Center in Utah is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team, with a minimum of 1 year of veterinary industry experience. Compensation is based on experience and education.

As a Veterinary Technician, you will assist veterinarians, prep patients for surgery, obtain samples, and communicate with clients to support high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Understanding and ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals.
• Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication.
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication & listening skills.
• Self-motivated & team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians: prep patients for surgery, monitor patients post-op, and restrain animals during exams.
• Obtain Samples: gather stool, blood, and other samples for testing.
• Testing: test the samples gathered and help interpret results.
• Administer Medications: give patients prescribed meds, anesthesia, vaccines, or other meds per DVM plan.
• Client Communication: obtain medical information and provide care instructions to clients.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
