Vetcor in Texas is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join our two-doctor practice. You’ll support veterinarians during exams, assist surgeries, run diagnostics, and provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital.
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills.
• Experience performing laboratory testing.
• Experience assisting with surgical procedures.
• Confidence supporting diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Collaborative, team‑first approach.
• Compassion for patients and their families.
• Commitment to high‑quality veterinary care.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians during examinations and treatments.
• Supporting surgical procedures.
• Performing diagnostic testing, including bloodwork and urinalysis.
• Assisting with and obtaining diagnostic X-rays.
• Administering medications as directed.
• Administering vaccinations as directed.
• Assisting with anesthesia and anesthetic patient care.
• Monitoring patients throughout procedures and recovery.
• Providing attentive care to hospitalized patients.
• Helping care for hospitalized patients on weekends as needed.
• Safely handling and restraining animals.
• Educating pet owners about treatment plans and home care.
• Providing client education regarding preventive health measures.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Cleaning and maintaining medical equipment.
• Maintaining clean, organized, and sanitary treatment areas.
• Communicating effectively with veterinarians and team members.
