Job summary

National Veterinary Associates (NVA) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our busy clinic. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You will provide nursing care, assist veterinarians with examinations and procedures, prepare patients for surgery, monitor anesthesia, and support emergency and high-volume cases. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience assisting with emergency cases and surgical procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing and patient care.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, high-volume clinic.
  • Excellent multitasking, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively when managing multiple patients and competing demands.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to veterinary patients.
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia and surgery.
  • Assist with emergency and urgent-care cases while maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Perform and assist with laboratory diagnostics, including bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology, and other in-house testing.
  • Place and maintain IV catheters and administer medications and treatments as directed.
  • Obtain and monitor patient vital signs and document medical information.
  • Handle, restrain, and care for patients safely and compassionately.
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, team members, and clients.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and stocked treatment and surgical areas.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple patients and tasks in a high-volume environment.
  • Follow clinic protocols for patient safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated Veterinary Technician to join our busy, fast-paced veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate is confident in a clinical setting, comfortable handling multiple priorities at once, and able to remain calm and organized when the pace gets hectic.

This position is ideal for a veterinary technician who enjoys working as part of a team and has strong hands‑on experience with emergency cases, surgical procedures, and patient care . The hours are 11am to 7pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to veterinary patients.
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical procedures.

Qualifications
