Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary practices, demonstrating proficiency in various technical skills essential for the well‑being of our patients. This role requires a commitment to providing high‑quality care and support to both animals and their owners in a fast‑paced veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
• Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
• Conduct animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during examinations.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
• Provide client education on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
• Monitor animal vital signs and behavior pre‑and post‑surgery.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas.
• Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to prevent infection.
• Handle animals with care, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred; kennel experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to animal dental care.
• Experience in veterinary critical care is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques relevant to veterinary medicine.
• Experience with equine handling is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong skills in dog handling, training, grooming, and catheterization are preferred.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self‑motivated.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
