Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health's Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha is seeking a Client Care Liaison for Emergency care. This 1st shift, 7am-4pm role connects clients with our veterinary teams, guiding owners through complex medical information with empathy and professionalism.

You will support pet owners during emotional moments, ensure they feel informed and respected, and help maintain a smooth client experience in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or skilled veterinary assistant.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluent English (speaking and reading) is required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Comfortable handling pets and assisting with restraint.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the vital connection between our medical teams and pet owners during visits.
  • Guide clients through complex medical information with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Provide compassionate support to pet owners during emotionally challenging situations.
  • Ensure every client feels informed, respected, and cared for throughout their WVRC experience.
  • Use veterinary knowledge and communication skills to enhance the client experience and strengthen trust.
  • Support the team while avoiding heavy physical tasks.

Location: Waukesha, WI

Schedule: First Shift | 7am-4pm | Wed/Thu/Fri | Every Other Weekend | Some holidays will be required

Compensation: $19-25/hr+, Dependent on Experience

In Your Day-to-day, You Will
  • Serve as the vital connection between our medical teams and pet owners throughout their visit.
  • Guide clients through complex medical information with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.

  • Ensure every client feels informed, respected, and cared for throughout their experience at WVRC.
  • Use your veterinary knowledge and communication skills to enhance the client experience and strengthen trust.
  • Continue making a meaningful impact in veterinary medicine while working in a role without the physical demands of lifting patients, floor nursing, or long clinical shifts.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or a skilled veterinary assistant.
  • Confident and professional demeanor, with the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively explain medical information, medications, and home-care instructions to clients.
  • Strong client service skills with a passion for helping others and building positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, staying organized, and taking initiative.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely handle pets and assist with restraint when necessary.
  • Proficient with computers and basic keyboarding skills.
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, medication handling, lab sample management, prescriptions, and aftercare instructions preferred.
  • Previous experience with client communication, including answering phones and interacting with clients in person.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) are required; fluency in additional languages is a plus.
