Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Veterinary Technician for Emergency services. 1st or 2nd shift, 3 days per week with rotating weekends, $20-30/hr plus $3-$5 per hour differential; full-time benefits apply.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient vitals, assisting veterinarians, anesthesia monitoring, sample collection, radiography, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment while delivering compassionate client care.

Qualifications

  • Certified Veterinary Technicians given highest consideration.

  • Fluent English (speaking & reading) required; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and activity.
  • Provide support to veterinarians and assist other departments as requested.
  • Provide care to all patients including critical care and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostics (blood draws, cystocentesis, etc.).
  • Perform radiographs following radiation safety protocols and maintain equipment.

Veterinary Technician | Emergency | 1st or 2nd shift available | 3 Shifts Per Week | Rotating Weekends | $20-30/hr | Shift Differential | Full‑Time Benefits | Ozaukee, WI

We are offering a hiring bonus for this position – $5000 for Certified Veterinary Technicians; $3000 for Experienced Veterinary Assistants.

Schedule and Compensation
  • Full‑Time – opportunities for 1st and 2nd shift
    • 1st shift hours: 8:00 am–5:00 pm, 3 days a week; every other weekend 8:00 am–8:00 pm
    • 2nd shift hours: 4:00 pm–1:00 am, 3 days a week; every other weekend 10:00 am–10:00 pm
  • Wage range is $20–30 per hour (commensurate with experience)
  • Applicable shift differentials: $3 per hour between 4:00 pm–12:00 am; $5 per hour between 12:00 am–6:00 am
  • Some holidays will be required

  • Ability to demonstrate technical procedures as outlined in technician protocols
  • Demonstrate reliability and follow‑through with all work‑related tasks/projects
  • Fluent English (speaking & reading) required; fluency in multiple languages a plus
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
  • Provide support to all veterinarians and assist other departments as requested
  • Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients, including critical care patients
  • Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing (blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling, free‑catch urine, etc.)
  • Perform various laboratory procedures (blood typing, cross‑matching, slide agglutination testing, etc.)
  • Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following radiation safety protocols
  • Properly use and maintain medical equipment
  • Provide professional client communication
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Maintain client and patient confidentiality
  • Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivityMeet or exceed WVRC expectations for attendance and punctuality
