Job summary

Petco in California Auburn is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to provide high-quality care for Vetco Total Care patients and outstanding customer service to their owners. The technician reports to veterinarians and hospital leadership, upholding Petco's care standards.

You will assist in surgeries, manage records, educate clients, monitor anesthesia, and train new staff while keeping the hospital clean and organized. A $2,500 sign-on is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician with state credentialing requirements.
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary technician experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and professional demeanor.
• Telephone and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight and vitals, and document in EMR.
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Handle and dispense medications and manage patient records.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results to doctor and clients.
• Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures; monitor anesthesia.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and maintain a clean, sanitary environment.
• Train new staff and share knowledge as required.
• Keep hospital environment neat and maintain schedules.
