Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change.
• College or college-equivalent education to become Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state of the hospital.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or working in a veterinary practice.
• Must have telephone and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients arriving for appointments or walk-ins and escort into an exam room, record all vital signs and patient history in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, collect samples, handle medications, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, and manage inventory and records.
• Prepare patients for surgical/dental procedures and monitor anesthetized patients with veterinarian guidance.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and keep patients clean, fed, and comfortable as directed.
