Job summary

The ASPCA Community Medicine team in New York City seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to support high-volume spay/neuter and preventive care. You will work closely with veterinarians and CM staff to deliver compassionate care and maintain medical records, while adhering to CM SOPs and OSHA protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of veterinary technology or equivalent per NYSED.
• Current New York State Veterinary Technician License (or ability to obtain within 30 days) is required.
• Experience in a veterinary clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for 35–40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery.
• Administer injections, anesthetics, vaccines, and other meds.
• Monitor vital signs and provide treatments per SOPs.
• Assist with exams, record medical history, and prepare medications.
• Maintain controlled substance logs and patient records.
• Participate in training and collaborate with ASPCA colleagues.
