Job summary

The ASPCA Community Medicine team in New York seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to support high-volume spay/neuter and preventive care. You will work closely with veterinarians and CM staff to deliver compassionate medical services to underserved communities.

Key requirements include NY State Veterinary Technician license (or eligible), strong animal handling and customer service skills, and the ability to lift 40+ pounds and stand long hours. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold current NY State Veterinary Technician License or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Experience with spay/neuter procedures and anesthesia is encouraged.
• Strong customer service and computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Care for 35-40 cats and dogs daily during spay/neuter surgery.
• Administer injections, anesthetics, vaccines and other meds.
• Monitor vital signs before, during and after procedures.
• Maintain medical records and drug logs in CM SOPs.
• Explain medical information to clients and provide compassionate care.
