Job summary

The ASPCA’s Community Medicine team is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our high-volume Community Veterinary Clinic in New York. You will work closely with veterinarians and medical staff, performing spay/neuter surgeries and handling routine patient care in a fast-paced, compassionate setting.

Requirements include NYS licensing, graduation from an accredited program, and strong animal-handling and client-service skills.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of veterinary science technology.
• Current New York State Veterinary Technician License (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Excellent animal handling and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Care for 35-40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery.
• Administer injections, anesthetics, vaccines and other medications.
• Monitor vital signs and provide post-operative care.
• Enter medical information into digital databases and maintain records.
• Collaborate with team and participate in training and staff meetings.
