Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories, vital signs, and patient assessments.
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care from patient intake through discharge.
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress techniques whenever possible.
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs.
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing, including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal testing.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Monitor anesthesia and provide attentive care throughout recovery.
  • Provide supportive patient care, including TPRs, pain scoring, and wound care.
  • Educate clients about preventive care, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records.
  • Collaborate with doctors and teammates to keep the hospital running smoothly.
  • Assist with client communication and front-desk needs when necessary.

What Our Veterinary Technicians & Assistants Bring
  • Current Veterinary Technician credential preferred
  • Experienced Veterinary Assistants and non-credentialed Veterinary Technicians are also encouraged to apply
  • Previous hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital
