Responsibilities

Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories, vital signs, and patient assessments.
Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
Provide compassionate nursing care from patient intake through discharge.
Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress techniques whenever possible.
Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs.
Perform in-house laboratory testing, including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal testing.
Prepare patients and equipment for surgical procedures.
Monitor anesthesia and provide attentive care throughout recovery.
Provide supportive patient care, including TPRs, pain scoring, and wound care.
Educate clients about preventive care, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Maintain complete and accurate patient records.
Collaborate with doctors and teammates to keep the hospital running smoothly.
Assist with client communication and front-desk needs when necessary.

What Our Veterinary Technicians & Assistants Bring

Current Veterinary Technician credential preferred
Experienced Veterinary Assistants and non-credentialed Veterinary Technicians are also encouraged to apply
Previous hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital
Confidence with patient handling, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
Experience with anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and diagnostic imaging
Knowledge of preventive care, vaccines, pharmacology, and medication administration
Ability to accurately triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories
