Veterinary Technician - Anesthesia

Located in Culver City, ACCESS LA is a referral hospital with 24-hour Emergency services, where our technicians encounter a variety of cases working closely with some of the most qualified doctors in the country. Our hospital features numerous specialty departments, offering unique experiences such as working with a Macaw with a broken beak, performing surgeries in advanced operating rooms, or operating MRI machines. We provide a high-paced environment for those passionate about caring for sick or injured animals.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized.
- Support and mentor fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Understanding of anesthesia protocols including assessments, drug dosages, and post-anesthesia care.
- Proficiency in monitoring equipment, administering anesthesia, and responding to emergencies.
- Attention to detail in dosages, vital signs, and record-keeping.
- Experience in soft tissue surgeries.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team providing high-standard patient care.

Compensation:
- Non-Credentialed Assistants: $21/hr - $30/hr
- Licensed Technicians: $25/hr - $38/hr
- VTS: $40/hr
- Pay to be determined by skills assessment
